What if we tell you that there’s a budding artist in you and inspirations for the best works of art the world can get from you are scattered right around you in your daily life? Fine artist Felix Jackson believes that to develop ourselves as an artist, it is important to observe and document life around us in our own unique way. That’s why sketchbooking has always been an integral practice for many artists.

In this habit-building course, Felix will share with you his joys of note-making and will help you inculcate it into a daily practice while discussing different approaches to sketchbooking. Consider this course as your place to experiment with new mediums, work out new ideas and visually develop your unique identity and voice as an artist. Assignments and readings are provided for in each class. By the end of the course, you will develop a healthy appetite for drawing, writing, and ideating as you observe the world better and synthesize its various subjects into your work.

Your Guru

Felix Jackson is a professional artist based out of Bangalore. He is an expert in storyboarding, 2d illustration, 2d animation, and fine art. Felix runs “Life Drawing Bangalore” or LDB, a community of artists who get together to draw from a live model every week. Felix is a firm believer of drawing from life and expressing in the moment as each moment is full of wonder!

Who is it for?

This course is fit for anyone who wants to explore the benefits of creative expression by inculcating a habit of sketchbooking, drawing, writing, and note-making. Also meant for individuals from various creative and artistic fields such as writing, music, dance, marketing, journalism, designing, photography, etc. as sketchbooking enhances the creative process. Creative expression is a subject useful for personal development and evolution. Those dealing with mental health issues like stress, anxiety, depression, etc. can find it therapeutic.

What To Bring

How To Participate

1. A Sketchbook (any size, new)
2. Color pencils
3. Dry (graphite, colour pencils, pastels, crayons, etc) and wet media (paints)
4. Separate notebook for notes

2. Check that you have a stable internet connection for best experience. 3. A computer or a laptop is preferred over a smartphone.

4. Set up a good sound system for the most immersive experience.
